Mandubun is a Chrome extension that helps you learn Korean by reading Naver Webtoons. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

Account Information

• Email address — collected when you sign in with Google. Used to identify your account and sync your progress across devices.

Learning Data

• Learning progress — vocabulary words practiced, XP earned, streak data, and episode completion.
• Webtoon metadata — series and episode identifiers from pages you visit while using the extension, used to provide translations for the content you are reading.
• Device timezone — used to correctly calculate daily streaks. Not used for location tracking.

Analytics

• Feature usage — we track how you interact with the extension to improve the learning experience. These events are tied to your account.

Error Reports

• Crash and error data — we collect error reports including browser version and extension version to help us fix bugs. No personal content or browsing history is included.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide translations and vocabulary features on Naver Webtoon pages
• Save and sync your learning progress
• Process payments for premium features
• Diagnose and fix technical issues
• Analyze feature usage to improve the learning experience

3. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers to help operate Mandubun, including for authentication, content processing, payments, and error monitoring. Data shared with these providers is limited to what is necessary to provide the service. We do not store your payment card details.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage

• On your device — preferences and cached progress are stored locally in your browser.
• On our servers — your account, learning progress, and vocabulary data are stored securely on our servers.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request the following at any time by contacting support@mandubun.com:

• Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data. Upon deletion, all server-side data will be permanently removed.
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

We will respond to data requests within 30 days. Local data stored in your browser can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.

6. Browser Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• comic.naver.com — to display the translation overlay on webtoon pages
• image-comic.pstatic.net — to access webtoon content
• api.mandubun.com — to communicate with our servers
• storage — to save your preferences locally

7. Children's Privacy

Mandubun is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@mandubun.com and we will promptly delete that information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
